About Us

Hello everyone, I'm Chase Saxton, owner and operator of "Ky Homestead Supply".

I was born in South Central Ky where I have lived most of my life, and when I was 3 years old, my parents purchased 110 acres of land in rural Ky. There they built a log house out of 100 + year old logs,  homeschooled me, and started their homesteading journey.

When I was 8 years old we met a family that lived completely off the grid, grew all their food, didn't have electricity, no running water, and farmed with horses. I was completely enthralled with this type of lifestyle, and started reading any and everything about living this way. The more I learned about a self sufficient lifestyle, the more it appealed to me.

In 2007 my parents sold the 110 acres and we traveled the USA and a small portion of British Columbia, Canada. While traveling we visited many Revolutionary and Civil War historical sites, and I became interested with the "old way" of life.

Then in 2008  we bought a farm in Northern Kentucky, where we lived an almost self sufficient lifestyle. This farm was like living in

the 1800's. It had a wooden covered bridge, water powered mill, spring house, blacksmith shop, barrel making shop, and a log house. On that farm we had over an acre of garden, 3 milk cows I hand milked, 10-14 chickens, calves for beef, 60 sheep (not counting lambs), 2 horses, and pigs.

The only way that we weren't totally self sufficient was because we relied on electricity from the power company for the house, and pump for the spring. If we had to, we could have lived without electricity, because the house was heated by three wood stoves (2 for heat, and a cook stove), and the spring was close enough that I could have hauled water by hand up

to the house, just like my grandmother told me she did when she was a child during the Great Depression.

After living there for 2 years we decided to move back to South Central Kentucky, so that we would be closer to family and friends. Living there was a blessing, but we learned that

no matter how nice a place may be, if you don't have those you love and care about around you, then it is meaningless.

4 years later, I am now starting my own journey back to a self sufficient, and totally off grid lifestyle. Also a business to provide quality products for those doing the same.

So as you can see, we aren't some big corporation,  just one man that had a dream and acted on it, and if I won't have it on my homestead, I'm sure not going to sell it to you.

Have a great day, and God Bless.
